STATEMENT
Since humans existence we’ve created art about the things most important to us. In 2020 we’ve made it clear: Toilet Paper is of the highest societal value. During Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020 I passed the time making cyanotypes from geometrically folded toilet paper squares while the rest of the country was hoarding it in their closets.
PROCESS: I meticulously folded sheets of toilet paper and laid them on cyanotype coated watercolor paper. Each paper was exposed to the sun then washed in water as you would a traditional cyanotype.
MATERIALS: Hand mixed cyanotype chemical, Stonehenge Aqua Hotpress watercolor paper.
DIMENSIONS: 10”x10” unframed.
EDITION: Each artwork is an edition of 1.
CREATION DATE: March 2020 during Covid-19 lockdown.
